At a special ceremony on the 3rd June 2017 George Cruickshank MBE was presented with a National Certificate of Meritorious Service and Life Membership by national president Sir Alistair Irwin in recognition of his out-standing service. This is the highest honour bestowed by the Royal British Legion. In 2004 he was awarded a MBE in recognition of his dedication to Royal British Legion Scotland and Turriff community. George has held many roles of the branch and club within our Legion since 1970, also George fulfilled roles within the zone area and the National Executive committee as well as being a dedicated fund-raising stalwart. George said he was humbled and also very chuffed to receive the award.
Turriff Legion president Ishbel Addison added the branch committee cannot praise Geordie enough for his input into the running of our legion throughout the years he is truly the most dedicated and hard working member we have had.
